Enhanced Growth is an ongoing progression buff carried by Princess Donut after her transformation by an Enhanced Pet Biscuit. It replaces the normal distribution of level-up statistic points with a fixed pattern: every additional level gives Donut one point of Strength, one point of Intelligence, and two points of Charisma. In return, she receives no unassigned statistic points from leveling and cannot redirect those gains into Constitution, Dexterity, or another attribute. The buff therefore gives her more points per level than an ordinary crawler while denying her most of the control that normally makes statistic advancement adaptable.

Enhanced Growth is not a spell, a skill that improves through practice, or a general property of every animal transformed by a pet biscuit. It appears in Donut's health menu under Buffs and remains part of her underlying crawler build. Its importance lies in the combination of abundance and restriction: the fixed four-point award produces exceptional long-term totals, but its distribution also preserves physical weaknesses unless race, class, equipment, or some other separate effect compensates for them.

Origin in Donut's transformation

Carl obtains the Enhanced Pet Biscuit from a Legendary Pet Box during his First Floor tutorial. The item's description gives him no promised result, and Mordecai explains that an enhanced biscuit can produce more than one hundred possible effects. He estimates that only about half are good, while the others range from neutral to dangerous. Feeding it to an animal inside a safe room at least protects the owner from an immediately hostile transformation, because a pet that becomes dangerous will be teleported away. Carl consequently faces a choice between risking the biscuit on Donut and selling an extremely valuable item.

Donut makes the decision herself by snatching the biscuit from Carl's hand. Her body temporarily collapses into a shapeless mass while the dungeon processes the transformation. Because she remains inside the guild rather than being expelled from the safe area, Mordecai recognizes that the result has not been classified as negative. Several minutes later she returns in essentially the same feline body, perhaps slightly larger, but she can speak, use the dungeon interface, and participate as a sapient member of Carl's party.

The transformation does more than grant speech. Donut is no longer classified as Carl's pet; Mordecai identifies her as a regular crawler and activates her menus and prize boxes. She remains a cat rather than changing species. Enhanced Growth is the named statistical condition produced alongside that change, and its effects are visible as soon as Carl opens her party statistics.

Before the biscuit, Donut's attributes had been one point each in Strength, Intelligence, and Constitution, with Dexterity at eight and Charisma at five. Afterward, the displayed values are Strength 11, Intelligence 11, Constitution 2, Dexterity 8, and Charisma 25. The buff's interface description attributes this opening change to an initial boost affecting four random statistics. The novels do not disclose a repeatable formula for that initial boost, but the displayed result establishes its uneven character: Dexterity is unchanged, Constitution rises only slightly, and the increases to Strength, Intelligence, and especially Charisma are far larger.

Fixed level progression

Ordinary crawlers gain three statistic points for each level. Before race and class selection on the Third Floor, those points are retained for later distribution. Once the selection process supplies any required minimums, the crawler may allocate the remainder. This system allows a crawler to save points for a prerequisite or correct a weak attribute after learning more about the dungeon.

Enhanced Growth replaces that choice with immediate automatic gains. Donut receives four points per level rather than three, and she does not need to wait for class selection before the points take effect. One point always goes to Strength, one to Intelligence, and two to Charisma. The fixed schedule gives her one additional point at every level compared with the ordinary award, while placing half of every award into the same attribute.

The benefit is especially powerful because its favored attributes support several different parts of Donut's role. Intelligence contributes to her magic-oriented development, while Strength prevents her small feline body from remaining physically negligible. Charisma grows twice as quickly as either and begins at an already extraordinary value of 25 immediately after the transformation. Mordecai explains that this level of Charisma is unusually influential on early floors. It does not compel Carl or other crawlers, but it affects non-player characters and monsters, giving Donut a strong basis for social and behavior-oriented abilities.

The same automatic schedule creates two persistent gaps. No level-up point is routed to Constitution, which determines Donut's capacity to survive damage, or to Dexterity, despite her reliance on movement and avoidance. Mordecai describes the arrangement as a double-edged benefit: absent another source of statistics, her initial Constitution of two and Dexterity of eight would not rise through ordinary leveling. A race or class can change those figures, and equipment can enhance them, but such additions do not alter where later Enhanced Growth points go.

This distinction separates the buff's base rule from Donut's displayed statistics at any particular moment. A later Constitution increase does not mean that Enhanced Growth has begun feeding Constitution; it may come from her race, class, or gear. Likewise, a skill bonus, spell level, immunity, or temporary floor ability is not part of Enhanced Growth merely because it strengthens Donut. The buff governs the destination of level-up statistic points and nothing in Books 1–7 establishes that it automatically trains skills or improves equipment effects.

Race and class selection

The restriction becomes strategically important before Carl and Donut descend to the Third Floor. Mordecai explains that ordinary leftover points will become freely assignable after race and class minimums are satisfied, but reminds Donut that Enhanced Growth denies her that final allocation step. He advises her to seek a selection that raises Constitution, identifying the attribute the fixed progression cannot repair.

Donut chooses to remain a cat when selecting her race. That racial choice increases her base Constitution from two to four. The change demonstrates the type of compensation Mordecai had described: her Constitution can be raised by a separate build decision even though none of her future automatic points will go there. Remaining a cat also preserves the physical identity she gained from the biscuit rather than replacing it with a humanoid or another dungeon race.

Her statistics help shape the class pool she receives. Mordecai calls her list of 34 choices the shortest he has encountered, although he attributes the restriction to four combined causes rather than Enhanced Growth alone: her race, her statistics, possession of a Desperado pass, and the Crown of the Sepsis Whore. The available base classes are Bard, Magic User, and Barbarian, accompanied by specialized and Earth-specific options.

Several recommendations illustrate different ways a class could interact with her uneven attributes. Artist Alley Mogul would add five Dexterity and provide defensive and navigation benefits, addressing mobility without changing the growth schedule. NecroBard would add five points each to Constitution, Charisma, and Intelligence while subtracting two Strength, directly improving her most serious durability weakness. Donut instead selects Former Child Actor, a Charisma- and Chance-based class that adds another ten Charisma and accelerates the growth of Charisma-based skills by fifteen percent. It does not supply a Constitution bonus, leaving the racial increase to four as the immediate correction to that weakness.

The choice intensifies rather than broadens the statistical emphasis created by Enhanced Growth. Former Child Actor builds upon the attribute receiving two automatic points per level and gives Donut a rotating Character Actor specialty for each floor. That is a separate class mechanic: its changing skills and spells do not come from Enhanced Growth, and they can be lost or replaced at the end of a floor. By contrast, the buff's Strength, Intelligence, and Charisma distribution continues beneath those temporary class packages.

Long-term advantage and practical limits

The clearest later assessment occurs on the Fifth Floor. After a major encounter, Carl advances three levels to 47 and Katia also gains three levels, reaching 44. Donut gains only one and reaches level 39. Carl is concerned that he is beginning to outpace her, particularly because five days spent in a time-out have restricted her opportunity to progress. Even so, he observes that Donut still has more statistic points than anyone else by a wide margin and explicitly attributes that lead to Enhanced Growth.

This comparison establishes both sides of the buff. Its extra point per level compounds enough to leave Donut statistically rich even when her crawler level falls behind her closest allies. However, Enhanced Growth does not award experience, recover missed levels, or prevent the dungeon from suppressing her opportunities. When a floor sidelines her, the automatic reward cannot operate on levels she never gains. A lower level can therefore remain a serious concern despite her superior aggregate statistics.

The fixed distribution also means that a high total does not imply an evenly resilient build. Donut's Strength and Intelligence rise reliably, and Charisma accelerates at twice that rate, but the total alone conceals the absence of automatic Constitution and Dexterity growth. Her survival consequently depends on a broader system of protections: racial and class bonuses, equipment, defensive skills, positioning, and cooperation with Carl and Mongo. Those measures complement Enhanced Growth rather than changing it.

The buff likewise does not determine Donut's tactics. It supplies the statistical foundation for magic, social influence, and physical improvement, but Donut still has to choose a class, learn and train abilities, evaluate equipment, direct Mongo, and decide how to use temporary specialties. Its removal of manual allocation limits one kind of control without making her development passive. Her major build decisions shift away from spending individual level-up points and toward selecting external sources that exploit her extreme Charisma or cover the attributes her automatic progression ignores.

Significance

Enhanced Growth defines the lasting mechanical difference between Donut's progression and that of crawlers who entered the dungeon as people. The same biscuit outcome that turns her into a speaking crawler grants a numerical advantage unavailable through ordinary leveling, but it also fixes part of her future without her choosing the distribution. Every level reinforces the pattern imposed at transformation.

That pattern explains why Donut can simultaneously be statistically exceptional and physically vulnerable. Four points per level make the buff an advantage in total value; the concentration of those points makes it a limitation in adaptability. Her successful build does not erase the tradeoff. Instead, it uses race, class, gear, learned abilities, and party tactics to turn an imposed Charisma-heavy progression into a coherent combat and social role while protecting the weaknesses that Enhanced Growth leaves behind.
