What a series order means
A series order is stronger than early rights acquisition or script development: the platform has ordered the show as a series. It does not by itself confirm casting, production start, episode count, trailer timing, or premiere date. Those fields remain open until Peacock, the production companies, participants, or established entertainment trades report them.
Canon boundary
The television project is an adaptation. Casting, visual design, condensed scenes, new dialogue, and production-specific story choices do not silently rewrite the novels. Novel facts remain on book-canon pages; screen-only details belong here and in Book Canon vs Adaptation Canon.
Watchlist
The next meaningful confirmed milestones are principal cast, production leadership beyond the announced writer and producers, filming location and start, first-look images, teaser or trailer, and Peacock's premiere window. Rumors and fan casting are excluded from the confirmed table.
