The core party
The Royal Court grows from Carl and Princess Donut's survival partnership into a network of companions, mentors, pets, and allied crawler teams. Its strength is not a fixed roster but the ability to coordinate people whom the crawl would prefer to isolate.
The central household
Carl and Princess Donut anchor the group. Mordecai provides guidance, training, and institutional memory. Mongo is both a combat asset and a member of the family, reinforcing the emotional stakes behind Donut's royal performance. Together they form the party's most stable household.
Katia and the wider crawler network
Katia Grim becomes central through shared travel, combat, and vulnerability. Imani, Elle, Bautista, Louis, and other allies broaden the party beyond a single team. Their cooperation creates tactical options, but it also gives Carl and Donut more people to protect and more competing needs to consider.
Why the relationships matter
The dungeon repeatedly turns scarcity, rankings, contracts, and spectacle into pressure for betrayal. The core party is important because its members do not eliminate conflict; they keep choosing cooperation despite conflict. That makes personal loyalty part of the series' larger resistance story.
