The current visual-format question
The TV announcement is bringing general entertainment readers into the same search path as comic collectors and WEBTOON readers. That creates one recurring question: "Which visual Dungeon Crawler Carl project am I looking at, and does it count as book canon?" The answer depends on the format. A WEBTOON episode, a WEBTOON print collection, Crocodile campaign material, and a DCC #0 cover listing can all be official or useful without proving the same kind of story fact.
Three visual projects, three jobs
Dungeon Crawler Carl now has multiple visual-format paths. They are easy to confuse because they share names, characters, and publisher/licensor context. The safest approach is to separate the job of each project before making a canon claim.

What the official pages support
The official WEBTOON listing supports statements about the WEBTOON's platform, public series page, visible credits, mature rating, and update presentation. At the August 8 review, the public page showed weekly Friday updates and recent Season 2 episodes. It does not automatically make every visual choice a novel fact. Vault's public blog material for the WEBTOON print edition supports print-format and collection statements. The BackerKit Crocodile campaign and Matt Dinniman's official site support the existence and public framing of Crocodile as a DCC side-story project. Vault/BackerKit update material can also support DCC #0 special-edition product claims when it directly says what is being offered. Those sources should be cited for project status and claims they actually make.
How to write about visual details
Use tight labels:
- "The WEBTOON adaptation depicts..."
- "The print WEBTOON volume collects..."
- "The Crocodile campaign describes..."
- "The novels establish..."
Do not write "canon proves" when the source is a cover, retailer page, or adaptation panel. A cover can be real product evidence without being story evidence.
